Eros International has asked Subhash Ghai and his partner,u00a0 TV producer Manish Goswami to return the Rs 5 crore given to their banner, Red Carpet Films, as an advance toward their multi-film deal.
Like their counterparts BIG Films, Eros is asking several producers and directors to return the huge amounts given to them. More so in cases where there has been no headway in the projects.
A source reveals, "Initially, Eros liked the idea of making medium budget movies with Ghai and Goswami but since a lot of time has passed and nou00a0 progress can be seen they decided to go to the producers' association Association of Motion Pictures & TV Progra-mme Producer (AMPTPP) to get their money back.

The allegation is that Goswami has been utilising the money allotted by Eros for himself. The source adds, "He has signed directors to make it appear that there is good use of the finances provided to him.
But the truth of the matter is that his TV company, Siddhant Cinevision, has announced new shows. It's apparent where the money has been channelled to."
The source further adds, "AMPTPP sent a letter to Ghai and Goswami to which Ghai replied saying that he doesn't have anything to do with Red Carpet Films and that he is a 'non-executive chairman' ."
Goswami, who has produced soaps like Aisa Des Hai Mera and Kittu Sab Jaanti Hai says, "I cannot comment on any of this as the matter is with the association right now.
I want to stay away from all this till a judgment is passed." Ghai remained unavailable for comment.
