Colleagues have always envied actor Sahil Khan for his muscular body. Sahil, who recently suffered a major slip disc problem while shooting for Ramaa the Saviour, tells CS about how his healthy habits have helped him recover in a jiffy:
Filmi motivation
I remember seeing Salman Khan doing one-hand push-ups in Maine Pyar Kiya. That shot inspired me so much that I saw the film 28 times. Thereafter, I got addicted to fitness and it helped me psychologically all my life. It got instilled in me that I had to take proper care of my body for healthy living.
Rock solid
I'm a big Sylvester Stallone fan. His film Rocky touched me deeply and gave me courage to keep fighting. While shooting a fight sequence with WWE world champion, the Great Khali for my forthcoming film Ramaa the Saviour, I broke two discs in my vertebra. My doctor appraised me for being lucky to be the one in a hundred to recover without having to install a steel rod in my neck. He told me that I could recover so quickly only because of good health and a strong will power.
Routine check
Everyday, I train one big body part and one small body part. I follow the pattern of working out for two days and then taking one day off. It doesn't matter which day of the week it is. I go for runs once in a while. One might have a great physique, but what matters in the long run is overall good health.
Eat smart
I follow a diet plan for six days of the week, keeping a day free to fulfil my cravings. I am a big science buff and believe in supplementation and nutrition. My idea of unwinding is to eat what I feel like on my 'treat day'. A great film, partying and a good massage rejuvenates my body and soul.
