Ekta Kapoor has signed Sendhil Ramamurthy (who features in the hit TV show Heroes) for her next project Shor. It will be directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK (the duo last directed 99).

Sendhil has also appeared on Grey's Anatomy, It's A Wonderful Afterlife and will soon be seen in another major Hollywood TV serial.

Very excited
Ekta confirms that she's signed Ramamurthy for Shor. "It's a satirical, cool, smart comedy based in urban India, and Sendhil plays one of the guys in the film. There are three stories in the film and all are inter-connected. I am a big fan of Heroes and am very excited that he's doing a Balaji film.

Raj and Krishna had a fabulous script and they already had Sendhil on board when they approached me with the script." Brother Tusshar Kapoor will play one of the protagonists.

She adds, "Since the film is about three friends, we are planning to organise special sessions for Sendhil and Tusshar to bond together."

According to Ekta, Sendhil is the next big Indian star in Hollywood. "He's huge in Hollywood and has also signed for a huge LA TV show." When asked about signing on the director duo she explains, "Their first film 99 was a big hit though the producers never marketed it as such. It made 19.5 crore net for the distributors." Enough said?
