Actor and comedian Vir Das has gone a rant on Twitter blaming the government for their inability to control the fringe outfits from not allowing 'Padmavati' to release
Enough has been said and done about the 'Padmavati' controversy, but comedian and actor Vir Das has hit the nail on the head by going on a rant about it. Vir Das, in a series of tweets has slammed the government for its apathy towards the rising intolerance against 'Padmavati' and also letting the fringe outfits to openly place a bounty on Deepika Padukone.

He has also bashed the television channels for airing the footage inclusive of the multiple threats being carried out against the cast and makers of 'Padmavati'. The fringe outfits also wanted to chop-off Deepika Padukone's nose for playing the role of Queen 'Padmavati' and wanted to beat Sanjay Leela Bhansali also for allegedly 'distorting' history. Ranveer Singh was slammed for playing the Mughal king 'Allaudin Khilji' but the actor didn't seem to care for the flak he received. Here is Vir Das' rant:
Someone threatened to behead a woman on national TV. They offered a cash reward for it. Picture any other country in the world where something like that happens. Ask yourself if that is a civilized place. Then ask yourself if we are.

Dear Govt. If this man isn't removed from your party, don't ever tell us you stand for safety or freedom again. Do the right thing. Do it now. pic.twitter.com/aouUqFwT4e

And to the media who puts the idiots from the Karni Sena on TV, milks them for ratings, publicises them enough to deliver death threats on prime time, and then backtracks saying the film is patriotic....you are just as responsible for the violation of freedom here.

Comedians make fun of the govt IN POWER when they do funny shit. We took on the Congress for years and no one called us right wing or BJP supporters. So when we take on the BJP....the flip isn't true. Just because your support is obsessive doesn't mean ours has to be.
