The Collar pin makes for an  interesting accessory

A collar pin is a piece of metal that is essentially used to hold the two ends of a collar together. A popular men’s accessory in the first half of the 20th century, its main task is to improve the appearance of a tie, by shaping the collar around the knot.

The pin passing underneath the knot gives it a proud shape. They are usually available in two shapes: a metal bar, with barbells on both ends that could be screwed off, or in the shape of a large safety pin.

For the first collar pin (bar), you will need a shirt with specially-made eyelets in each side of the collar for the bar to pass through. The safety pins, on the other hand, can be worn with any collar.

There’s also a third-type that has clips on both ends that grasp each end of the collar, and can also be used with any type of collar. So, add a classic touch to your wardrobe with these vintage collar pins (that come as silver and gold plated).
