Fazli's popular ghazals include Hosh Walon Ko (sung by Jagjit Singh) in Sarfarosh (1999), Kiska Chehra Ab Main Dekhu (sung by Jagjit Singh and Alka Yagnik) in Tarkieb (2000), Tu Iss Tarah Se Meri Zindagi Mein Shaamil Hai (sung by Manhar Udhas) in Aap To Aise Na The (1980) and Kabhi Kisi Ko Muqammal Jahan Nahin Milta in Ahista Ahista (1981).
He had also penned lyrics for TV shows like Sailaab which aired in the '90s. Fazli and Jagjit Singh also collaborated on the 1994 album named Insight. Coincidentally, he passed away on the ghazal maestro's birth anniversary yesterday.
Fazli, whose real name was Muqtida Hasan, hailed from a family of Kashmiri Muslims which had shifted to Delhi. During the Partition, his family decided to migrate to Pakistan, but Fazli, who was around nine years old at that time, decided to stay back in India.
