With a face like hers, it’s hard to go wrong, nay? And yet, the styling of the gown is majorly amiss. Not every award function needs a voluminous number on the red carpet for effect. And this one was big enough to make a tent out of.

Wearing looks straight off the runway doesn’t always work. A look like this needs a certain amount of spunk to carry off which was missing here. Maybe if the skirt was knee-length worn with stilettos and messy hair, the look could’ve been salvaged, but the way it is, not much works for it.

Admittedly there’s nothing exceptional about the look. But we like that its breezy and summery and would translate so easily from a day to night wear. Needless to say, Esha carries it off well.

Athiya Shetty

What makes the styling work here is the fact that it didn’t look too ‘worked on’. The gown, which does look striking in its own, did most of the talking for Athiya who courtesy the simple make-up and hairdo looked quite pleasant.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

There was something oddly gripping about this gown. Maybe the vibrant colours or the fact that it was a departure from the obvious looks that Aishwarya sports. A softer, messier hair-do and sans jewellery look would have perhaps elevated the look slightly more.
