The new season of CCL kicks off to an exciting start in Sharjah

While reports of Team India being trashed Down Under has sufficiently dampened the spirits of cricket fans across the country, a much-needed shot of enthusiasm was pumped in, but from beyond the boundaries.

Slideshow: Salman on the pitch!

Salman Khan and Bobby Deol

The first match of this season's Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) between Mumbai Heroes and Telugu Warriors saw stars from the Mumbai and the Telugu film industry take on each other in Sharjah.

Genelia D'Souza

An inauguration ceremony before the match saw the captains of all the teams in the tournament coming together for a photo-op. And if there was excitement on the field, the same was palpable off the field as well.

Kangna Ranaut

There was no stopping Genelia D'Souza's enthusiasm as she danced to some foot tapping music in the backdrop, waving the Mumbai Heroes team flag. Salman Khan, who watched the game from the sidelines, was in a rather somber mood.

Sohail Khan and Suniel Shetty

Kangna Ranaut, too, preferred to keep it low-key. South star Shriya Saran, however, danced the evening away and was spotted in a rather jaunty mood.

All on all, for the audience, it was double bonanza. An exciting match that ended in a draw and our very own Bollywood stars in great spirit.
