Arshad Warsi left producer Vinod Bachchan in the lurch at the last moment citing disagreements with the script of the latter's upcoming production, Maximum.
He was to join the cast and crew on Sunday and begin shooting for a 25-day-long schedule. The producer is now on the lookout for his replacement.
Says Bachchan, "We were to shoot at different locations in the city. I had even booked a train for an action sequence. But Arshad felt that the script wasn't up to the mark and decided to walk out."
Isn't he surprised that the actor reacted so late in the day? "Yes. Considering the script was given to him three months back.
He told us only recently that he wasn't happy with some aspects of it. I was ready to make minor adjustments as well, but overall, I can't interfere with Kabir's vision and how he wants to direct it."
He stands to lose close to a crore, but the producer is more concerned with finding a replacement. "It isn't easy to find some one new when an actor walks out.
I was keen to work with Arshad because it's a negative role and he was quite excited to do it. But at the moment, my focus is on finding a replacement actor so we can start the shoot."
Surprisingly, he is keen to work with the actor sometime in the future. He says, "Even though he's put me in this situation, I would want to work with him in some other film."
