Like many cricketer sons, Angad Bedi, son of former Indian left-arm orthodox bowler, Bishan Singh Bedi, also gave the sport a shot, professionally. He fell short of playing for India when he was pitted against Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the last match of a major tournament.

Since he couldn't break in, Angad soon turned to acting and hit gold as the spoilt brat who molests the protagonist in Amitabh Bachchan-starrer 'Pink' (2016). Currently, he is looking forward to his upcoming web series, 'Inside Edge', in which he plays the captain of a team in a cricket premier league.

To prepare for the role, Angad and other members of the cast had to hit the ground for training.

"Since he has played cricket professionally, he helped the crew get the shots right and gave valuable inputs while with set designing. He also helped his co-actors understand the technicalities of the sport. For the portions that had to be shot inside a stadium, he helped the crew with the pitch," a source tells mid-day.

When contacted, Angad said, "When you follow a sport from childhood, you know the technicalities of it. Luckily, for me, I understand batting stance and field positioning. I am glad Karan Anshuman (director) was open to suggestions."
