Singh will be seen in a romantic comedy with newcomers

Amrita Singh is returning to the big screen in a new film. The actress was last seen in the 2007 release Dus Kahaniyaan. Amrita has now signed Milind Uke's romantic comedy titled Aditya met Avantika.

Uke whose Shahid-Ayesha starrer Paathshala is ready for release has begun work on his next. Amrita will be seen as the mother of the main lead in the film.

A source reveals, "Amrita has been very choosy about her work. But when Milind went to her with the subject she readily agreed. She loved the script and her character that is very close to her personality. Despite getting numerous TV and film offers, Amrita has chosen to devote her time to her kids Sara and Ebrahim."

The cast of the film that has two newcomers is presently being shot in Udaipur. Confirming Amrita's presence, Milind says, "Yes she is doing my film though I am yet to shoot with her. But I had a great script discussion with her and am really looking forward to her first schedule with us."

The film will also have Bhagyashree, who has replaced Raveena Tandon. "It's an unusual love story, and we did initially approach Raveena. But since things didn't work out we went to Bhagyashree."

According to Uke, his take on romance will be different from the rest. "The male lead is a pop singer and the female comes from the modeling fraternity. It's an intense love story."
