Wednesday the world will celebrate International Women's Day, but that's means nothing in a country where domestic violence, rape is a regular occurrence. Actors Taapsee Pannu and Akshay Kumar released a video on social media on Monday for women of all ages that hopes to equip them a little better in their fight to be live free and without fear.

The duo teaches women how to use their elbow to deter attackers and molesters.

The video, which both Taapsee and Akshay shared on Twitter opens with the actress urging women to fight for their protection. She says it's time that women stopped freezing with shock and being helpless when someone tried to misbehave with them.

"I fail to understand how weak are we that we can't protect ourselves. When someone touches us, our mind doesn't work. When a man comes and touches our breast or back, we freeze, and they take advantage of that moment and do whatever they want.

"To answer this, we should know what to do. Throw a stone and run, kick, use your hands... Your body parts are your weapons. Use your 'kohni' (elbow), trust me it hurts a lot," the 29-year-old actress says in the video.

To properly explain what she has been saying, Taapsee proceeds to demonstrate Kudo, a modern form of martial arts. She calls over Akshay -- who she says has trained her -- to demonstrate the technique.

Akshay and Taapsee then teach the viewers the self-defence technique which the actress calls 'Kohni maar' or hitting with the elbow.

HERE'S THE VIDEO:

Taapsee, who was last seen in 'Pink', will be next seen as the lead character in 'Naam Shabana', a spin-off based on her character in the film 'Baby'. She essays the role of an undercover agent and underwent rigorous training to learn martial arts in order to perform action-packed sequences. The Shivam Nair-directed film, which also features Akshay in a special role, will release on March 31.

Taapsee over the weekend also urged people to maintain physical distance while standing in queues. "I understand we are the second largest population in the world, but we can surely afford to have respectable physical distance in queues," Taapsee had posted on Twitter on Sunday.
