Organised by Shilpi Jatia and Rituu Bagrodia, the exhibition will see the works of over 50 designers and brands, including Indian by Manish Arora, Varun Bahl, Rehane, Nishka Lulla, Payal Khandwala, Surendri by Yogesh Chaudhary and Urvashi Kaur.

“We have tied up with Cuddles Foundation, an NGO that provides nutrition to underprivileged children suffering from cancer. The price range of products is between R2,000 to R40,000,” says Bagrodia, who has been organising this exhibition since 2009.

Designer Rehane will showcase her latest line, Easy Girl, along with a few limited edition pieces. Inspired by the Kumbh Mela as well as the beautiful beaches from across the world, the works have bold and bright colours such as tangerine, mirror and thread work.

“The garments are fitted at the waist and the bottom is free flowing,” says Rehane.

It’s high-waist skirts, skinny jeans, midis and crop tops that is trending this season. “People, this season, are not only interested in what clothes they wear or how they have accessorised themselves, they are also very conscious about how they style their hair. You can see the younger generation wearing different hairstyles that are simple yet elegant as opposed to the typical blow dried and let down hair,” says Rehane. A part of the proceeds of the sale of her collection will go to Madras Round Table, which works on building infrastructure for education of underprivileged children.

Meanwhile, Indian by Manish Arora will exhibit a kaleidoscopic collection. “This collection tip toes back into the rich heritage of art and architecture. Decorative arts, intricate architecture and handicrafts are the themes for the collection,” says Arora, who says this season will be high on print on print. “I’m glad that designers are warming up to this concept and making it more accessible to the general public,” he adds.

If you have been biting your nails over how to give your wardrobe a change, Arora says it is most important to identify your style. “A lot of people are hesitant to experiment with different colours and prints and end up with a wardrobe filled with the same colour. Try different things that you are comfortable in. This change is not just restricted to ones wardrobe, I think even a slight change in ones hairdo can make the difference. It’s all about kicking the monotony out of one’s life,” he concludes. We couldn’t agree more.

When: February 27, 10 am to 7pm
Where: The Mansion, Four Seasons Hotel, Worli
