Veteran Bollywood actor Shashi Kapoor, who was hospitalised here for a chest infection, has been discharged from the hospital, doctors said on Sunday.

"Shashi ji had recovered completely from his ailment and thus we discharged him on Friday. He will now be resting at home," Dr Ram Narain, Executive Director of the hospital said.
The 76-year-old actor was admitted to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on September 21, after he complained of acute cough and breathlessness.
He was then kept in the ICU.
The septuagenarian actor, who has won three National Film awards, was presented with the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010.
The versatile actor, who is known for acting in over 160 Hindi films in his career, had undergone a bypass surgery in the past.
Kapoor, who has been suffering from a failing health for last few years, has three children from his late wife Jennifer Kendal.
