Says director Sanjay Khanduri, "I have just finished the scripting, and I haven't really sat down on the casting. So I can't really say if Abhay will be part of the film."
Second innings
Apparently, Abhay was one of the first to know about the sequel and was extremely excited about the idea. But a source adds, "It has been a few years since the first film and a lot has changed.
The sequel will be made on a much larger budget, and there are many different aspects to the story as compared to the first one.
So the casting is definitely a point of contention and the producers are still mulling over it.
Unlike the original, which begins after the protagonist misses the last local, the sequel will have him miss the last flight to Mumbai from Delhi.
As a result, he will be stranded in the city over night, eventually discovering the underbelly of Delhi's crime scene.

Interestingly, there will be a parallel story line within the film, where the heroine will miss her local in Mumbai. The two stories will eventually connect in the end, which is a brand new twist from the original.u00a0
However, for now, Abhay is busy with Dibakar Banerjee's Shanghai and Navdeep Singh's Shaadi Of The Dead. Only time will tell if he indeed manages to catch this train.
