Ayesha Takia's folks have yet to move out of their current residence
Abbas Tyrewala has bought the house belonging to Ayesha Takia, but the family has yet to move out. And since Abbas' current residence has to be handed over to its new owner immediately, the director and his wife Pakhi have no choice but to shift into a friend's apartment until the Takias vacate the apartment.

Stuck for some time
The Tyrewalas didn't know whom the place belonged to. "Later, we learnt that it belonged to Ayesha's parents and they were to move to a new home in South Mumbai to be near Ayesha and her husband Farhan. They were supposed to shift a while back. But they are yet to find the most suitable alternative accommodation.
Abbas is waiting for them to vacate the house that legally belongs to him. Are the Takias hard-placed to find another suitable home in a preferred locality due to discrimination? Did Abbas opt to buy a home from another Muslim family because it was easier to do so than looking for a home in mainstream localities?
Abbas denies facing any discrimination. "I haven't faced any discrimination in property purchase. But I was told that the Takias were denied property in Khar. Hence the delay in moving out. That's okay. I've always lived like a nomad. Pakhi and I would be glad to live out of suitcases until we get our new house."
