1 Boman Irani
One of the finest performances I've seen so far is from Boman Irani in I'm Not Bajirao. He played the part of an old Parsi gentleman. No one could have guessed that it was a 35-year-old playing the role of a 75-year-old.
2 Kevin Spacey
I went to see Inherit The Wind a month ago in London and was floored by Kevin Spacey's performance. It was quite interesting to see a Hollywood actor on stage. And Spacey is so natural and comfortable performing live that I never once felt I was watching a star.
3 Naseeruddin Shah
There's no question about Naseeruddin's acting skills, but when I saw this actor perform Gandhi in Feroz A Khan's Mahatma vs Gandhi, I couldn't believe how well he got under the skin of the character. Gandhi was a small man by stature and it is a wonder how Naseeruddin made himself so small for this role.
4 Class of '84
We launched this English play about the reunion of eight friends in January 2003. The level of dedication has never wavered since. In 2005, We were performing in the open at the Hyderabad Club and there was a crowd of around 2000 who screamed, sang, but the team didn't get distracted even for a second. At the US Club in Mumbai last October, it started raining heavily during the show. Although we had covered the stage and audience seating, you could barely hear anything. But the actors remained focused and united till the end.
