Pakistani cinema is going through an interesting phase and what's more interesting is the presence of Indian names in the changing trends.

'Zinda Bhaag' is the first Pakistani film to be screened at IFFI

With Zinda Bhaag -- starring Naseeruddin Shah, amongst others -- being selected as the first Pakistani film in over 50 years to be submitted for Oscar, the movie is all set to screen at NFDC Film Bazaar at International Film Festival of India (IFFI) -- a first for a Pakistani film.

Directed by the Indo-Pak duo of directors, Meenu Kaur-Farjad Nabi, Zinda Bhaag will be screened at National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC’s) Film Bazaar in Goa for Indian and international producers and distributors. “Set in Pakistan, the comedy thriller revolves around three young men’s desperate attempt to break free from the shackles of their daily lives through dangerous and extreme methods. Naseersaab plays a local don. After Khuda Ke Liye, this is his second Pakistani film so far,” informs a source.

The film will be screened under Viewing Room section as per the Film Bazaar recommendations. “I am looking forward to my visit to India and be present at the event,” adds producer Manzar Zaidi. “This will help and encourage the other film makers also in Pakistan.”

Nabi, who is looking after the film’s releases in other countries says from Lahore, “It’s a collective honour for the entire film fraternity in Pakistan. I will not be able to come for this screening but most probably I will be present for the Kerala Film Festival in December.” u00a0
