It has been 38 years since Sholay released. And now the classic is being revived with a 3D version.
So much so it has even bagged a release date.

Though 3D conversion has been in the making for a long time, now the film is finally ready to see the light of the day. “The film has gone through a string of possible release dates earlier -- August 15, the actual day on which the film had originally released -- later it was pushed to October 11 -- Amitabh Bachchan’s birthday -- but then again that didn’t work out. Anyway, now the release date is finally confirmed which is January 3, 2014,” says an insider.
The film has been picked up by UTV for release and the company has major plans for the release. “They have already confirmed Dharmendra and Amitabh Bachchan to be part of promotions. They have also purchased the full India theatrical rights after watching the film,” adds the source.
