Arnav Mr. Shah

Interviewer: Thank you for joining us today, Mr. Shah. Your journey in film and media production has been quite remarkable. Let's start with your short film "Chef at the White House." It was officially selected for three prestigious film festivals. Can you tell us about this success?

Mr. Shah: Certainly. "Chef At the White House" has indeed been a significant milestone in my career. Its selection for three prestigious film festivals was incredibly validating for our team and highlighted the film's global appeal.

Interviewer: One of those festivals was the LA Shorts International Film Festival, which is accredited by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences, BAFTA, and the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television-68 of their alumni have gone on to receive Academy Award® nominations. How did you approach the production process to meet the high standards of such a prestigious festival?

Mr. Shah: During pre-production, a producer wears many hats. My primary responsibilities include securing funding, developing the script, coordinating locations, and working closely with the director and other key staff to finalize the project plan. It's a crucial phase that sets the foundation for the entire production.

Interviewer: Your film was also selected for the Micheaux Film Festival, which has partnerships with Roku, Amazon/MGM, and the Oprah Winfrey Network, as well as the 14th International Pune Short Film Festival. How do these selections reflect on your work?

Mr. Shah: These selections demonstrate the broad appeal of our film. The Micheaux Film Festival, in particular, celebrates the legacy of African-American filmmaker Oscar Micheaux and has strong industry connections. The Pune Short Film Festival selection showcases our film's global reach. Together, these selections highlight our ability to resonate with diverse audiences.

Interviewer: Let's talk about another of your films, "Comatose," which you both directed and produced. It was selected for the PlayShort International Film Awards and earned semi-finalist status at the Cinematography Awards Foundation. What does this mean for you as a filmmaker?

Mr. Shah: These achievements for "Comatose" are particularly meaningful to me as I took on both directing and producing roles. The PlayShort International Film Awards is known for its rigorous selection process, so being chosen validates our work. The semi-finalist status at the Cinematography Awards Foundation highlights our teams expertise. It’s an honor to be recognized for having the right people in place, balancing top skills, experience, and chemistry within the team.

Interviewer: Your talents extend beyond film into advertising. The Omron Body Health Compositor campaign you produced reached over 14 million people and amassed 2.3 million views on YouTube. Can you tell us about this successful project?

Mr. Shah: Absolutely. The Omron campaign, titled "Know Your Body Inside Out, Then Workout," was a collaborative effort with Snowball Studios in Mumbai. We featured Indian fitness icons Milind Soman and Gul Panag, which helped us connect with a wide audience. The campaign's success across platforms like YouTube and Disney+ Hotstar demonstrated our ability to create content that resonates with large audiences.

Interviewer: You've also ventured into music video production. The video you produced for Easy Wanderlings' "Faces" earned semi-finalist status at the Short to the Point International Film Festival. How was this experience different from your other work?

Mr. Shah: Working with Easy Wanderlings was a unique experience. They're an award-winning soul-pop band known for performances at major festivals like Lollapalooza and Bacardi NH7 Weekender. Translating their musical vision into a visual narrative was an exciting challenge. The semi-finalist status at STTP, a globally recognized platform, was a great validation of our efforts.
