First, its essential to understand, for maintaining proper health and vitality, nutrition plays a big crucial role. Same as humans, pets also require a balance of essential fat, vitamin, protein, carbohydrates, minerals and nutrients for their growth and overall developments.

If a pet parent is trying a different product or brand than usual or changing your brand, take a small amount and give a small amount to the pet for around 5-7 days and if there is no reaction on the pet on his health in terms of passing of stool or reaction on the skin and his or her daily day to day activity or energy level on negative side then can go ahead with new brand.

The amount of nutrition food depends on the age, size and activity level of the pets and we can’t ignore on the fact that without having proper check on the proportion of the food, may damage the health of the pets. Puppies and kittens need different level of nutritious food comparing to adult dogs, cats. Larger breeds may require more quantity of food compare to smaller breeds. High active pets like working dogs or cats need more calories to be in the same activity level or to sustain in the same energy level.  Especially for security dogs like Doberman, German shepherd, the food intake is higher than domestic dogs with protein intake of 20%-28% is necessary.

We will recommend you to always check with your veterinarian or consulting expert before going for any kind of food products for your pets and always go for nutrition check of the particular food. The veterinarian can help you with tailored recommendations on the pet’s individual needs. In general, every food products packet comes with the guidelines recommended to start with. Check on back of the label that how much percentage (%) of non veg ingredients are mentioned and how much is vegetarian ingredients is mentioned and we should understand the nature of the pet is mainly carnivorous and how important is non veg ingredients to them.

Being a carnivorous animal if we give food in a plate we will get disturbed by their nature. If as a pet parent, you try to give food to pet around 5-8 bites initially and that will give them a drive. The person giving them food make an alpha in front of pet and the pets will listen to them. But, its crucial to find out the correct amount of food require for your pet so that you should not worry about pet’s underweight or overweight phenomenon through overfeeding or underfeeding.

You been a pet owner need to understand that every pet is very unique and the food intake may vary depending on their preferences or dietary sensitivities.  Some pets feel to have more food while the others may need small portions of food in their meals. Kindly pay attention to your pet’s behaviour to adjust their intake and control any kind of unforeseen issues. If you check on regular basis, you will be able to find out about your pets that its gaining weight or losing weight and accordingly you check with your dietician. This way you can adjust the proper diet for your pets.

We recommend you to not depend on the human food for your pets as it has high amount of sugar, unhealthy facts, sodium which can leads to health issues for longer run. Sugar intake should be regulated in all breeds and gender. Should be minimal, ideally less than 1-2% of the total diet. High sugar content can lead to obesity, dental issues, and diabetes. It's best to avoid added sugars and opt for natural sources like fruits in moderation. Beside this, opt for high nutritious quality food that contains real and whole ingredients and is formulated for the pets.

For some pets these are the below additional considerations to look for:

Labrador & Golden Retriever: These active breeds need higher protein and moderate fat content to support their energy levels and maintain lean muscle mass.

Lhasa Apso & Shih Tzu: Smaller breeds like these require nutrient-dense foods with a focus on high-quality protein and fats to support their metabolism and coat health.
Tailoring the diet to the specific needs of these breeds ensures they receive the right nutrients to thrive.

In conclusion, Proper nutrition is important for every pets.
