Chitwan College of Cookery is the first and only international culinary training provider in Chitwan District, Nepal. Chitwan District, situated in the southwestern corner of Bagmati Province, includes Bharatpur, the second-largest city in Nepal after the capital, Kathmandu.


Founder & MD of Chitwan College of Cookery , Sachin Pratap KC recently was bestowed with the prestigious International Quality Award in the category of Best Chef Training College in Nepal. The award was presented to him by renowned Indian Film Actress, Rakul Preet Singh in a glittering award ceremony held at Taj Santacruz, Mumbai, organized by India’s top branding company Brands Impact. Besides, notable personalities from varied sectors, several B-Town celebs including Divya Khossla Kumar, Gauhar Khan, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Elnaaz Norouzi, Geeta Kapur, Parul Gulati, Tanuj Virwani, Kashmera Shah, Sudhanshu Pandey and Shivangi Joshi were also awarded during the ceremony for their contribution to cinema and entertainment. The winners of IQA 2024 were selected by a panel of Jury members headed by Krishna Jadhav, a visionary leader recognized for his transformative work in FinTech, AI, and digital innovation. 


The International Quality Awards (IQA) was established by Brands Impact in the year 2016. The first two editions witnessed Bollywood and Business World come together for celebrating quality. IQA is an exciting platform that offers the participants an unparalleled opportunity to showcase the standards that their brand and services stand for and signifies that the quality of their brand is comparable to international levels!

Sachin, who graduated in Hotel Management from London, United Kingdom, in 2006 holds 15 years of diverse experience in the hospitality sector, including roles in star hotels, restaurants, and as an instructor at culinary teaching centres, Sachin has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and expertise. This extensive background has been instrumental in the development of his dream project, “Chitwan College of Cookery,” located in Nepal.

At Chitwan College of Cookery, Sachin aims to deliver the highest level of culinary education. By leveraging his skills and the expertise of a highly experienced team of chefs, the college provides an outstanding platform for students. The goal is to equip them with the necessary skills to excel as chefs, cooks, or entrepreneurs in the global hospitality industry.

Coming from an army family and being the youngest son, Sachin brings a strong sense of discipline and a positive outlook to his work. His mission is to uplift the hospitality sector in Nepal, emphasizing that the future belongs to those who continually develop their skills and apply them creatively. His primary objective of establishing and running Chitwan College of Cookery is not only to achieve commercial success but also to expand by opening additional colleges, particularly in remote areas of Nepal. This initiative will provide valuable opportunities for youth, raise societal awareness, and serve as a gateway to the international hospitality sector.

Known for its jungle safaris and adventurous experiences, Chitwan now hosts Chitwan College of Cookery, which offers a Certificate III in Culinary Arts through an affiliation with an Australian program. This skilled chef training program is designed to support and enhance the careers of aspiring chefs while providing valuable empowerment for the hospitality sector in Nepal, a country that attracts a large number of tourists each month.

The culinary training program aims to boost the local economy and raise awareness about essential aspects of cooking, including hygiene, safety, ingredient knowledge, seafood preparation techniques, and food hazard prevention. The recent global pandemic has highlighted the critical importance of cleanliness and safety precautions, underscoring the relevance of these skills.
