On the significant occasion of India’s Independence Day, the International Youth Development Foundation (IYDF) partnered with Eye Mitra Vision and Opticians Center to organize a heartfelt charity event at Shishu Sadan Orphanage in Meerut. Led by Mr. Ravi Kumar, the volunteer team included Harsh Arora, Vaibhav Singh, Sanyam Anand, Ramesh Chand, Bala, Komal, Sunny Pachori, Ayush Gupta, Rajesh Anand, Ajay, and Rajat.

The primary goal of the event was to provide essential aid to 25 children at the orphanage, helping to improve their living conditions. Volunteers distributed a variety of essential items, including 50 kilograms of flour, 30 kilograms of lentils, 50 kilograms of rice, 25 kilograms of sugar, 10 large packs of biscuits, 36 packets of chips, 10 kilograms of poha, 10 kilograms of semolina, as well as bread, candies, and other food items. In addition, the children received puzzle boards, board games, skipping ropes, pencil boxes, lunch boxes, and other educational and recreational supplies.

At the event, volunteers not only distributed the supplies but also introduced themselves and showcased their talents, fostering a deeper connection with the children. Ms. Anandi Rohita, the head of Shishu Sadan Orphanage, expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the event, stating that the volunteers’ presence brought both material aid and emotional comfort and joy to the children.

Reflecting on the event, organizer Mr. Ravi Kumar shared, “Seeing the children’s bright smiles because of this event filled us with excitement and happiness. We are very thankful to IYDF for giving us this opportunity to bring warmth to these children on such a meaningful day as India’s Independence Day.”

This event not only allowed the children to experience the care of the community but also further strengthened the collaboration between IYDF and various societal sectors, ensuring continued support for more children in need.
