IPG Group successfully conducts Lanka Premier League 2024 with record 780M TV viewership

IPG Group, the league's rights holder, successfully conducted the fifth edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) with skyrocketing to 780 million across television and 480 million unique viewers online. The tournament's incredible success was applauded by Australian cricket legend and brand ambassador Michael Clarke.


The LPL 2024 marked a pivotal moment in the league's history due to the constant efforts of the IPG Group as it experienced a remarkable 20% increase in television viewership compared to the previous season. This leap underscores the league's growing popularity and its establishment as a major cricketing event worldwide.


Michael Clarke praised the IPG Group for successfully conducting LPL 2024 and captivating audiences globally, stating, "The Lanka Premier League has reached new heights this year. It's fantastic to see the league's matches being followed with such enthusiasm across the globe. The IPG Group has truly excelled in broadening its reach."

Tournament Director Samantha Dodanwela extended his gratitude to the IPG Group, sponsors, acknowledging their crucial role in enhancing the Sri Lankan economy through increased revenue and foreign investments. The league's success not only bolstered the sport's profile but also stimulated economic growth in the region.

IPG Group brought some top players of the world in the LPL 2024 including Glenn Phillips, Mustafizur Rahman, Shadab Khan, Wanindu Hasaranga etc to make it an enthralling league.

The IPG Group also ensured that LPL 2024 got broadcast across ten major cricketing nations, including networks like Star Sports (India), Monara TV (Sri Lanka), A Sports (Pakistan), T Sports (Bangladesh), Fox Sports (Australia), and Sky (New Zealand).

The league's reach extended further through OTT platforms such as Fancode (India), The Papare (Sri Lanka), Telemed (Pakistan), and Styx Sports (South Africa), highlighting the growing importance of digital media in sports consumption.

With an investment of approximately USD 10 million, the LPL 2024 has set a new benchmark for future seasons. The league's success is a testament to its potential for continued growth and its ability to attract a diverse global audience.

The Lanka Premier League's triumph this season underscores its emergence as a powerhouse in international cricket, promising even greater achievements in the years to come.
