The mobile theatre of Assam, popularly known as ‘Bhramyaman’, continues to attract audiences on live stage without the use of special effects like green or blue screens, 3D or 5D technology. The theatre groups highlight Assamese culture and social issues in an entertaining way.


In a career of more than two decades, the lead actress of Assamese Mobile Theatres, Prastuti Porasor has managed to rule many hearts. The actress says she is trying to do work that is relevant to the time.

Whether it was her work in "Maharathi", "Tumi mur matho mur", "Priya o Priya", "Ramdhenu" or films like "Ahetuk", "Dooradarshan - eti Jantra" and "Ganga" - Porasor has followed her own path to display every character.

She uplifts the era of drama in Assam by single-handedly leading the Awahan Theatre. She is the lead actress and producer of this group, which is currently Assam's most popular drama group, founded by Krishno Roy. In her acting career, Porasor features in so many multi-starrer drama along with so many popular stars.

Along with her acting career, she is a mother, a daughter and a housewife who has been managing her family with utmost care and love for years. Porasor loves to spend time with her family. Her strong personality always impresses others and resonates her multi-tasking capabilities as a strong woman.
