Actor Kabbir was recently honoured with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Icon Award in the category of ‘Most influential, stylish actor of India in the Year 2024’ at a glittering ceremony in Dubai.

It’s not every day that such awards come by. Naturally, the recipient of the award namely Kabbir is on a high since he has received the prestigious award from DPIAF which is an award platform to appreciate upcoming creative Artists, Filmmakers. DPIAF hosts the award function to acknowledge those deserving actors, actresses, directors, lyricists, musicians, singers, technicians, filmmakers, and artists who are part of Indian cinema.
Like every year, there was anticipation for this year’s Dadasaheb Phalke Icon Award Films Organisation, the country’s first NGO dedicated to the world of cinema. These included Yaqoob Al-Ali Sheikh Issa Bin Abdullah Al-Mualla, Counsellor Ali Al-Mazem, Dr. Bu Abdullah, and Kabbir himself. The Event was organised by Kalyan Jana at Bristol Hotel Deira Dubai.

It has a stellar star cast including Kartik Aryan, Madhuri Dixit and Vidya Balan and is being readied for a Diwali release later this year. I realise that Dadasaheb Phalke is the father and creator of the film industry. So, having been chosen for this honour, I consider myself lucky. Of course, each and every award has its own importance and value, be it Zee awards, IIFA or any other. But Dadasaheb Phalke Icon award is really huge for me. Also, I am happy that I got it in the award of most influential and stylish man of the year category.
Now I am hoping that I will also get the National award soon. Speaking of receiving it on the Middle Eastern turf, he says, “Sure, it’s a huge high to receive an international award. It’s a huge opportunity for me to receive it in Dubai at the hands of such important people. People there were extremely gracious and courteous which made the whole experience very pleasurable. I was truly honoured to receive the award in their midst.”
