The musical duo of 'Kaushik-Guddu' takes ahead the rich legacy of Bengali Composers in Bollywood!

Kaushik-Guddu

The sound of Bollywood Music has always been inspired by various traditions and cultures. Over the past century, if there is one state that has contributed the most in the glory of the Hindi Film Music, it is the state of West Bengal.  While some of the most celebrated Bollywood Music Directors like S.D.Burman, Hemant Kumar, Salil Chowdhury, R.D.Burman, Bappi Lahiri, Pritam are all Bengalis, the musical duo of 'Kaushik-Guddu' are carrying the rich legacy forward in the modern age. The talented musicians who created a storm last year with their chartbuster song 'Mere Yaaraa' in Akshay Kumar's 'Sooryawanshi’, are all set to release their new single 'Teri Adaa' this week. The song will feature Shivangi Joshi and Mohsin Khan in the video with a playback from Mohit Chauhan and Saumya Upadhyay.

Growing up in the hustle and bustle of Kolkata, Kaushik-Guddu always had music as an integral part of their upbringing. While Kaushik has his strong roots in the Hindustani Classical Music, Guddu on the other hand is influenced by the Western music. We can see a beautiful convergence of these two influences in every song they create. As the two moved into Mumbai in 2013 to pursue a career in music, they initially started by assisting composer by giving creative inputs on songs. Their major break came with the song 'Tera Hoke Rahoon' in Rajkumar Rao's 'Behen Hogi Teri' which featured vocals from Arijit Singh. Ever since, there has been no looking back for the duo in Bollywood. The two gave a series of chartbusters like 'Sajan Bade Senti' in Aayushman Khuraana's mega hit 'Badhaai Ho', 'Loveyatri Title Track' in Salman Khan's 2018 film 'LoveYatri' and 'Mere Yaaraa' in Akshay Kumar's Sooryawanshi, that broke the internet with over 2 million reels being made on social media. Their recent Bengali songs ‘Dugga Elo’ and ‘Dugga Dugga’ have almost become an anthem for Durga Puja celebrations in West Bengal.

Talking about their musical journey, Kaushik-Guddu said, “We are grateful to everyone who has contributed to our journey so far. As we grew up in Kolkata, music was all around us. While our friends spent time on the playground, we spent our time in front of the radio listening to Bollywood Hits. Now to be a part of the same industry and create music is extremely rewarding. We feel a great sense of responsibility in taking forward the legacy of Bengali musicians as their work has always inspired us in our work. We intend to rediscover ourselves with every song and hope that the audience continues to support us as they always have”.

With so many hit singles to their name, ‘kaushik-Guddu’ have become one of the most sought after musicians in the industry for chartbuster song.  As ‘Teri Adaa’ is all set to create a storm this week, fans are all excited for an amazing line up of songs ahead.
