Mehul Suthar – a well-known designer and fashionista from Vadodara, has recently showcased his first ever pastel collection in the Gurugram International Couture Week at Bel-la monde resort, New Delhi.
Mehul - a vibrant personality and love to play with vibrant colours, has made his collection using more of pastel shades “Parampara” for upcoming Wedding and festive season. Mehul sticks to Indian traditional outfits. He always has made excellent Sherwanis, Indo-western, Kurtas, Kediya, Jackets and Dupattas using different fabrics and Indian techniques. Being Gujarati he experimented a lot with Kutch handwork, Saurashtra embroidery, Patola and Bandhani prints, Moti work, Zardoshi work, Tie & Die techniques, Batik and block prints.

Mehul Suthar showcased “Parampara” on the ramp of GICW along with well-known designers Amato couture (Dubai0, Meriem Bekhayat (Morocco), Morfium (Serbia), Garimon (Dubai), Charini (Srilanka), Kamil (Sri Lanka), Archana Kochar, Ramesh Dembla, Charu Parashar, Robert Naorem, Angrish to name a few. He had a selection of a very strong line-up of models - Deepti Gujaral, Sonalika Sahay, Candice Pinto, Daman Brar, Prita Singh, Preeti Singh, Neeraj Chamoli, Himanshu Shailey, Ramin Noori, Hamid Mir, Saud Khan, Yash Tondon, Abhishek Chaudhary, Krishna Dembla, Rayan Dembla and more for his sequence. Shamkhan, Lokesh Sharma were the show directors and show was styled by Bharat Gupta.
Sonalika Sahay walked a showstopper along with designer Mehul Suthar as a final walk of the presentation. Showstopper dress was also made in pastel shades using Zari, Zardoshi, threadwork, aabhla (Mirror work) and Kodi (Seashells). Designer himself wearing Patola print kurta and carrying Kutch Shawl which shows his true love for Gujarati art and culture.
Mehul Suthar has always promoted fashion and upcoming talent from Gujarat. He always inspired upcoming models, trains them and give them guidance for the successful modeling career. He got various prestigious awards by hands of very famous personalities like Geeta Kapoor (Geeta Maa), Pankaj Beri, Dr Bharat Dangar for his excellent work in fashion industry.
