The film has released on ‘Baba Play’ OTT platform a social media app with the stated objective to awaken society through entertainment and to spread the thoughts of Baba Saheb Ambedkar around the world. As per the reports due to non-availability of screens in theatre for this film, the makers decided to release it on Baba Play OTT platform to make it available for the global audience.
Caste-based discrimination is not just a story of rural India
In the past 4 years alone, 18 Dalit students in premier institutes of India committed suicide due to traumatic caste-based discrimination. Usually looked upon as a rural problem and ‘not affecting’ urban India despite shocking data available, caste discrimination is yet to be acknowledged among educated diaspora.
In the movie's trailer viewers can get a glimpse of the powerful and true to life portrayal of incidents. The movie follows a first-year Dalit student who faces severe discrimination at hands of an upper caste student. The physical abuse leaves a scar on the student but the system of utter negligence and purposeful targeting of lower caste students further pushes him to take drastic steps. His actions lead to an uprising among Dalit students who fight for justice. In the film we will be able to see a Dalit student being given the voice to represent the community, narrate their story and compel change.

The film is produced by Nitin Mishra written and directed by Sanjiv Jaiswal who is notoriously known for picking socially relevant stories and staying true to it no matter the obstacles. He is the man behind the historical Movie Shudra: The Rising, that creatively captured the genesis of untouchability and the caste system in India. Multiple protests, censor board obstacles and other issues did not deter the filmmaker from taking his film to the audience. He also inspired millions of socialites to join in support of the film’s release and help it reach the theaters. He bagged the Best Director’s Award at Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival and also a nomination in Boston International Film Festival for the film. He is undeterred even today to tell a highly sensitive story and it is intriguing to watch the director’s next outing.
