Navigating Funding Challenges: The Success of Female Entrepreneurs in India.

In a retrospective exploration reminiscent of the impactful show Shark Tank, 11 women entrepreneurs took centre stage in Mumbai on December 9th. Their mission? To confront the challenging realms of funding and Climate Change head-on. Armed with innovative startup ideas and a vision for a more sustainable future, these women showcased their determination to make a meaningful impact.

Deutsche Bank, in collaboration with Going to School, boldly stepped forward to support young women entrepreneurs through the Youth Venture Fund. This initiative aimed to nurture sustainable startup enterprises, with a focus on Mumbai, India's financial hub, and Bengaluru, the renowned tech hub.

Going to School, recognized for its design-driven stories, graphic novels, and television shows, focuses on equipping young minds with essential skills to combat Climate Change. Their collaboration with Deutsche Bank resulted in an event where these young entrepreneurs presented solutions to one of the world's most pressing issues.

Ruchi Khemka, Head-CSR, Deutsche Bank, India, shed light on its inception, emphasizing Deutsche Bank's multifaceted CSR strategy spanning education, community development, and environmental sustainability. This program aligns with the third and fourth pillars: promoting women-led enterprises with a focus on Climate Change and environmental initiatives to reduce carbon emissions.

At the heart of this unique venture lies the identification and empowerment of women from financially marginalized backgrounds with business plans addressing environmental issues and sustainability. The entrepreneurs, with diverse backgrounds, presented innovative ideas ranging from flower recycling to solar-powered vegetable drying.

The essence of this endeavour isn't just about providing funding; it's about holistic support and mentorship. These women are guided through the entire entrepreneurial journey, from ideation to execution, providing a nurturing environment for their sustainable business ideas to flourish.
The significance of this initiative extends beyond mere entrepreneurship; it's a catalyst for change. By empowering these women, the program ignites a wave of sustainable businesses positively contributing to the environment while uplifting communities.

The event showcased more than just innovative ideas; it showcased hope and determination. It stands as a testament to the potential of individuals when provided with the right resources and guidance. Through this collaborative effort, Deutsche Bank and Going to School paved the way for a future where sustainability and entrepreneurship go hand in hand.

As these women entrepreneurs embarked on their journey, they symbolized not just resilience but also the promise of a greener, more sustainable world. This venture isn't just about businesses; it's about creating a legacy of change, one startup at a time.
