Assam down town University proudly announces the successful inauguration of its remarkable Library cum Activity Centre at the Panikhaiti campus. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Shri Nitin Jairam Gadkari, the Honorable Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India.
This state-of-the-art building includes a 500-seat capacity auditorium, multiple seminar halls for concurrent sessions, an advanced AV production studio, a modern cafeteria, a multi-storied library, an art gallery, a yoga hall, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, and an indoor stadium with facilities for multiple sports. The funds raised from this event will contribute to the construction of the AdtU Amphitheatre.
Furthermore, a remarkable highlight of the occasion was AdtU conferring an honorary Doctorate, PhD D.Litt (Honoris Causa), to the Honorable Union Minister in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the field of Road Transport and Highways. This prestigious title represents AdtU's profound gratitude for the Minister's unwavering dedication to improving our nation's infrastructure. The event also acknowledged the outstanding achievements of individuals in different categories, such as presenting the Outstanding Researcher 2022-23 award to Dr. Saikat Sen, Professor, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science; the Best Performer PG Student award to Ms. Aniya Teli from the M. Pharm Program; and the Best Performer UG Student award to Mr. Samujjal Talukdar from the BCA Program.
