We all are fond of old Hindi movies. Not just because of the vintage entertainment but also because of the intriguing storyline, pleasing songs, and perfect comedy. Remembering the movie Ganga ki Saugandh, say's Ali Akbar
It's almost 20 years now that Bollywood has lost one of the amazing film director, producer and treasure Sultan Ahmed. He was a famous director and producer of very renowned movies such as Heera, Jai Vikranata, Daata, Dharam Kanta, and Ganga Ki Saugandh starring Amitabh Bachchan. Recently over Instagram: Amitabh Bachchan along with his grand daughter was feeling nostalgic remembering the movie Ganga ki Saugandh filmed in Rishikesh in which he played the character of Jeeva; cherishing 44 years of this Bollywood blockbuster movie.
Ganga ki Saugandh directed by Sultan Ahmed depicts a special message through a story about a boy Jeeva who was thrown out of the village after the death of his mother. The reason for the death was Thakur's atrocities. The story shows how a common village boy turned his life into a dreaded dacoit and returns to the village to retaliate against the death of his mother. Inspiring from the movie Ali Akbar Sultan Ahmed says, “My father is my inspiration and my ideal. When I look back at some of the works done by him, I feel so inspired and motivated to do something in life. He inspires me not only in my career but also in life. It is nothing less than a blessing to be able to call the legend, my father. I try my best to walk on his steps and follow his guidance. He is and will always remain with me and I hope to make him proud.”
Ali Akbar say's In todays era when I see the Prime Minister vision of Namami Ganga cleaning of ganga river this beautiful song comes to my mind ‘maano toh main ganga Maa Hoon, naa maano toh behta paani’
Ganga has its spiritual, ecological, historical, mythological and cultural significance and it should be the duty of every Indian to keep it clean and alive , Ganga is considered a living being and means many things to many people.
As a proud Indian I would like to end by saying we are from the land of Ganga.
