Erik Roberto, a renowned barbershop owner in New York City, has served many prominent clients over the course of his career while also claiming first place in various prestigious competitions, including CT Barber Expo (Connecticut), Hair Battle Tour (Boston), and IBS (New York). He wasn’t just satisfied with his success cutting and styling hair and became the first barber to transition to the SMP industry. From there on, he has become a beacon for those dreaming of pursuing a career in SMP through his years of experience. In 2019, he was awarded for being the best practitioner of skin micropigmentation in the United States.
Erik Roberto believes the first step in solidifying your digital presence is to acquire a website. This makes it easy for people to look you up online and assess what you offer. “A vast majority of people tend to check out websites belonging to the companies they want to do business with. This is why the importance of having a website cannot be understated,” says Roberto.
According to Roberto, individuals should dedicate time to building their digital platforms. The pioneer of scalp micropigmentation—a process that rejuvenates hair follicles—explains that people who desire a prominent digital presence should dedicate a significant amount of time and commitment to their online platforms, as this growth does not happen overnight.
Erik also states that it is useful to identify the approaches taken by competitors in developing their online presence. “You should not be afraid of applying methods that have worked for other players in your field as they can also work for you,” he notes. However, he adds that these approaches should be very carefully studied and evaluated before they are employed.
Erik Roberto believes that creating accounts on social media platforms and being active and engaging with your target audience is another way of improving your social media presence. “There are various social media platforms today, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok, that are free and easy to use. Social media has made the world a global stage due to its popularity.” Erik Roberto concludes by emphasizing that the future of the business world is online.
