Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami turned the big 30 on September 3, 2020. Shami was born in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh

Mohammed Shami's father Tousif Ali, a fast bowler himself, during his younger days, later went on to take up farming as a profession.

Mohammed Shami has three brothers and a sister. All off Shami's brothers had the ambition to become pacers.

Mohammed Shami represents Bengal in domestic cricket and India in international cricket. He is a right-arm fast-medium swing and seam bowler, which makes him a deceptively potent fast bowler.

Mohammed Shami is also known as a reverse swing specialist. He made his ODI debut against Pakistan in January 2013 where he bowled a record four maiden overs. He picked a five-wicket haul on his Test debut against West Indies in November 2013.

Mohammed Shami got married to Hasin Jahan in 2014. Hasin Jahan was a professional model before getting married to the Indian cricketer. Hasin Jahan was also a former cheerleader for IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders.

Mohammed Shami played in the IPL for teams such as Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) and Kolkata Knight Riders before being signed for Kings XI Punjab.

Mohammed Shami has played a total of 51 IPL matches so far taking 40 wickets at an average of 38.67. and economy rate of 8.99. Shami's best bowling is 3/21.

Mohammed Shami made his Test debut in November 2013. Shami has played 49 Tests and has taken 180 wickets averaging at 27.36. His best bowling figures are 6/56.

Mohammed Shami made his ODI debut in January 2013 and since has played 77 ODIs taking 144 wickets. Shami's best bowling is 5/69 and he averages at 25.42.

Mohammed Shami has played 11 T20Is for India so far and taken 12 wickets at a bowling average of 31.83 and economy rate of 9.63.

In May 2020, in a startling revelation during an Instagram chat, Mohammed Shami claimed that he thought of committing suicide thrice while battling personal issues a few years ago, forcing his family to keep a watch over him at all times. He said his family members feared he "might jump" from their 24th-floor apartment. 

Shami is known to be one of the most deceptive bowlers in cricket due to his ability to seam the ball at a pace of over 140 kmph.
