How do you feel having received Mid-Day Gaurav ICONS Awards 2021?


We feel thrilled on having received this awards. It is an honour to have received this title by a popular newspaper like mid day.


 


How did you begin your business journey and where it has reached now?

We started In 1894 with our first branch in Nagapattinam. Today, LG hing is available globally.

It’s been 127years we are still going strong.

 

Currently where your business stands in the market?

Today, we are a household name. In many regions in India LG is synonymous with hing itself.

We are also available globally. You can find LG at your nearest grocery store or simply order our product online.

 

What was the strategy to during Covid lockdown and post it?

The lockdown presented with many challenges, especially since most spices are sold in  unorganised         markets. With physical distancing norms in place we had to rely on modern trade as most kirana stores were not operational. Now with the markers reopening, the distribution chain is running smoothly.

 

What is your Success Mantra?

Our success mantra has always been “quality” and “consistency.”

It has been a challenge to maintain the price due to fluctuating taxes on raw material but we have ensured that we sell the best quality product.

 

What are your future business plans?

In future we plan to expand our product base and make sure that our product evolves as per our consumers preferences. We also plan to reinforce our distribution network to make sure we cover most parts of the country, including remote locations

 

What are your goals in life? (It could be your goal/a goal for your business) ?

Well, we believe in growing with our consumers. We want to be the single most synonymous product in the hing category, and also introduce more products. Hopefully, we can achieve it someday.

 

Any message that you would like to give?

We would request our costumers to ensure that they are buying the original LG product. We have attached a QR code which they can scan before purchase to ensure their purchase is authentic.There are many counterfeiters working to tarnish our brand image and sell duplicate LG products of inferior quality.
