The Bombay HC's office of official liquidator on Monday put up Sahara Group's Aamby Valley project in Pune for public auction for a reserve price of R37,392 crore, four days after the SC declined Sahara chief Subrata Roy's plea to put the auction on hold.
A three-judge bench of the apex court, headed by Justice Dipak Misra, had refused to give any relief to Sahara.
Earlier, the SC had directed Roy to deposit R1,500 crore in market regulator SEBI's Sahara account by September 7. SEBI had alleged that Roy had failed to comply with the 2012 order directing him to return R20,000 crore to investors.
