TMC, cops conduct `drowning` mock drill

The mock drill was conducted at the Ganpati Immersion Ghat in Mithbandar area of Kopri in Thane, the officials said

The exercise simulated the drowning of two individuals. The motive was to cut down on response time and save life, an official said

The officials from the Kopri Police Station in Thane, along with disaster management officials, fire brigade personnel, etc attended the drill, he said

The mock drill served as an important training session for all officials who took part in the exercise, the official said
