Rains lash parts of Mumbai

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had on Saturday issued a weather alert, indicating a generally cloudy sky with moderate rainfall throughout the day
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had in a statement said that a high tide was expected in the city today at 16:38 hours
The civic body had said that the tidal waves would reach a height of 2.97 meters during the high tide on Saturday
The BMC said that a low tide was expected at around 23:30 hours and during the low tide at night the wave levels would be at 1.47 meters
Meanwhile, the dams that provide water to Mumbai are 98.56 per cent full with the recent showers that had lashed the city days before
