Rahul Gandhi to vacate Wayanad seat

On Tuesday, Rahul Gandhi formally notified the Speaker`s office of his intention to keep the Raebareli Lok Sabha seat and to give up the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat.
Agency reports stated the Congress leader submitted the letter to the Lok Sabha Speaker for this today.
At a special press conference earlier on Monday, Congressman Mallikarjun Kharge declared Priyanka Gandhi`s candidature from Wayanad.
Three Nehru-Gandhi family members will be in parliament if Priyanka Gandhi wins Wayanad: Sonia Gandhi in Rajya Sabha, Rahul & Priyanka in Lok Sabha.
Priyanka Gandhi said on Monday that she will contest the bypoll from Wayanad but her decades-old association with Amethi and Raebareli will continue.
