Hornbills rescued at Mumbai airport

Two Sulawesi and Two Visayan Hornbills were seized at the International Airport by the Air Intelligence Unit of the Mumbai Customs, officials said
The birds were stuffed in plastic containers in passenger luggage bags full of chocolates
Two passengers were arrested by the AIU for the attempt to illegally get the birds in India
The accused were presented before a court and were later granted bail
The birds were stabilised, hydrated and fed in transit followed by deportation orders as per the provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972
