Fire at Ujjain Mahakal Temple injures 14

A fire erupted during morning aarti at the revered Mahakal Temple in Ujjain, leaving 14 persons injured.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav pledged Rs 1 lakh each and free medical treatment for the injured persons in Ujjain`s temple fire incident.

A magisterial inquiry is underway to investigate the cause of the fire at Mahakal Temple, meanwhile authorities have vowed to prevent such mishaps in future.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed concern over the incident and promising government aid for those affected by the incident.

Initial reports suggested the fire was sparked by a ritual involving the throwing of `gulal` during Holi celebrations, leading to injuries.
