Fire in Delhi home kills 4

Four persons, including two kids and a married couple, died due to suffocation after a massive fire broke out in a residential building in Delhi.

The incident happened in a building in the Shastri Nagar building area of Delhi`s Shahdara in early hours of Thursday.

The deceased were indetified as Manoj (30) his wife Suman (28) and two girls aged five and three years.

Officials said after they were informed about the fire at 5.20 am, all agencies including Delhi Fire services had gathered at site soon.

Officials added that a local police team, four fire tenders, ambulances and other emergency service vehicles rushed to the spot.

The police said that the building where a fire broke out has four storeys and a car-parking facility on the ground floor.

The officials said the fire sparked from the parking lot and smoke engulfed the building; however, the exact cause is yet to be ascertained.
