Avg voter turnout for LS poll at 60.97pc

The third phase of Lok Sabha elections witnessed a notable voter turnout across 11 States/Union Territories reaching approximately 60.97 pc, as reported by ECI.
Assam emerged with the highest voter turnout at 75.01 per cent, showcasing active civic participation among its electorate.
In contrast, Maharashtra recorded the lowest turnout at 53.95 per cent, indicating varying degrees of voter engagement across different regions.
Other states that participated in third phase displayed diverse turnout percentages, ranging from 56.21pc in Gujarat to 73.93pc in West Bengal.
Union Territory Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu also contributed to the electoral process, recording a turnout of 65.23 per cent.
Prominent leaders, such as Amit Shah, former CMs Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Digvijaya Singh & several other political stalwarts participated in the electoral fray.
