Zomato slashes Pure Veg fleet green rigs

Amid controversy over its new `Pure Veg Mode` service introduction, Zomato rolled back move to introduce green uniform for the new fleet.

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal made the announcement on Wednesday; he added all riders will continue wearing their trademark red uniforms.

In his post on X (formerly Twitter), Deepinder Goyal said Zomato will continue to have Pure Veg fleet for vegetarians but will remove on-ground segregation.

He said Zomato was rolling it back after concerns over segregation impacting their delivery executives & the customers emerged & thanked netizens for feedbacks.

Goyal was caught in a storm after announcing launch of `Pure Veg Mode` service intended for strictly vegetarian customers to be delivered by Pure Veg Fleet.

Netizens had voiced their concerns & said societies, RWAs may not allow regular fleet to enter premises based on the colour-coded uniforms.

Zomato CEO had on Tuesday said they`d roll back the service in a heartbeat in case it sees significant negative social repercussions.
