Should I speak to her parents and find out why they feel this way, or will this create further problems?

Her parents think I’m too young...

I am 24 and my girlfriend is 26. She and I get along very well and love each other a lot, but her parents keep telling her that dating a younger man is a bad idea. I don’t know why they feel this way, because they are always polite and kind when we meet. I don’t know if they have a problem with me specifically or with the idea of their daughter dating someone younger. When my girlfriend and I talk about this, she laughs it off and says she doesn’t take what her parents say seriously, but I can’t help wondering if this will slowly change her mind and lead to problems later. Should I speak to her parents and find out why they feel this way, or will this create further problems?
You should trust your girlfriend for now, given that they are her parents, and she presumably knows them better than you do. None of us knows what the future holds but focusing on the present is always preferable because it allows you to strengthen your relationship and prepare for anything that may happen down the road. Her parents may have valid or ridiculous reasons for their belief, but the only thing that really matters is how you and your girlfriend think about your relationship. If that seems solid, nothing else should be a problem. She says she laughs it off, so why doubt her?

My friend and I have been arguing a lot about my boyfriend, because she thinks he is not very nice to me. I have tried to explain that this is just the way he speaks, but she thinks I am demeaning myself by being with him. How do I change her mind?
You don’t have to if she refuses to take your word for it. You and your boyfriend are the only ones who know what this relationship is like. If you’re comfortable with it, that is all that matters. Your friend will come around to seeing this.
