Apple Arcade has been around for a while, but it is still going strong mostly because of the subscription model of bundling it free when you get Apple One service which includes Apple TV, Apple Music, and Arcade, amongst others.

The Gardens Between is a remake of an older game. It is a single-player game where you play as Arina and Frendt, who try to navigate a surreal garden that tests the significance of their friendship. You have to solve puzzles and manipulate time to progress in the game. However, there is no time pressure. You can enjoy the emotional journey this game takes you on at your own pace. The game also has simple controls, which makes it great for casual gamers as well.
Samsorost 3+
Samorost is an award-winning puzzle-based adventure game. You play a gnome-like space creature that uses a magical flute to travel across the universe. The game is full of strange creatures, unique alien worlds, and, most important of all, challenging puzzles. The first two installations of this game were excellent, so it goes without saying that this one will be amazing too. In case you haven’t played the first two, they are part of Arcade as well.
Love You to Bits+
Love you to Bits is a sweet point-and-click adventure game where you play Kosmo, who is exploring the cosmos in search of pieces of his robotic girlfriend. You have to assemble all the pieces to rebuild her. The game has lots of puzzles, strange alien worlds, and hidden Easter eggs, enough to keep you coming back for more. It is the perfect game if you are in the mood to give your brain a little workout.
Jetpack Joyride 2
You know you spent weeks playing the first version of this game. Jetpack Joyride was a smash hit on every mobile platform it was released on. The sequel is an Apple Arcade exclusive. In addition to going the furthest with your jetpack, the new game also has you tackling bose battles and tricky hazards that require much more finesse. You can, of course, collect coins and upgrade your jetpack with performance upgrades.
HEROish
Tower defence games are so much fun, and HEROish is one of them. You play as one of six heroes, and your character goes against other players either in a 1v1 or a 2v2 match. Your chosen hero can summon troops, cast spells, and perform attacks on your enemies and their towers. A deck of cards is also involved; the cards can upgrade and fortify your team. The campaign is an excellent place to familiarise you with the game mechanics.
NBA 2K23 Arcade Edition
NBA 2K22 is one of the most popular games on Apple arcade, and 2k23 is its latest version. 2K23 has a new mode that lets you complete challenges and even lets you play against current NBA stars and legends like Michael Jordan. You can play career mode as well as street-style basketball games. The game supports controllers, and you can play real-time multiplayer matches.
Horizon Chase 2
Do you miss how car racing games felt in the 90s and don’t like the impeccable and frankly sanitised game play? Then Horizon Chase is for you. The game ticks all the right nostalgia boxes, including fantastic music, retro console-style car racing looks, and easy controls. The latest iteration also brings multiplayer, either in co-op mode or to compete head-to-head.
GRIS+
In this 2D side scroller, you play a girl called Gris, who has just gone through a traumatic experience and is dealing with it while lost in a strange new world. Her dress helps her navigate this new world, and as you progress, Gris’s abilities expand, allowing you to explore the world even more. There is no death or frustrating bottlenecks in this game. It is all about progress and enjoying the experience.
