When the corporate world started getting to cousin duo, Amit Mehta and Bijal Gandhi, they decided to give shape to a wild dream in their head. The two began an adventure company that organises unique itineraries for nature loving souls. Next week's Wada Mud Run is one such.
"The idea was to combine mud, run and nature for an adventurous run during the monsoon. It's the craziest, funniest and muddiest obstacle race in India," says Mehta.
"We are all about fun, family, and not taking yourself too seriously, but at the same time, it's about getting fit," adds Gandhi. The run involves a jam-packed day of climbing, crawling and wading through mud.
"The 3.5 km-long run through countryside is an obstacle course that goes through a jungle-like trail and includes over 15 obstacles. It is designed to accommodate people at different fitness levels and there is no time limit, so you can take as long as you like, to finish the race," informs Mehta.
Giving a glimpse of what to expect, Gandhi tells us there is, "a Tarzan swing, rope climbing, commando net, tyre run, drum tunnel, wire mesh, army crawl, balance beam, commando crossing, mine field". Ready, anyone?
