Get inspired by Kalam

Have a Sufi evening

Watch a play onscreen
A Harold Pinter classic comes to screen this month. No Man’s Land is the story of two ageing writers, Hirst and Spooner, who meet in a Hampstead pub and get inebriated in the course of the night. Soon, their lively conversation turns into a power game, further complicated by the return home of two sinister younger men. Directed by Sean Mathias, the film stars Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart.

Make a fabric painting

Catch 400 artworks under one roof

JAN 21-22: Nariyal Paani is back with its third edition. So, take a short boat ride to Morapada beach in Alibaug — 20 minutes away from Mandwa Jetty. The line-up, as usual, will be a medley of Indian and international independent artistes, performing live original music. The genres will range from folk, jazz and reggae, to electro-pop, hip-hop and beatboxing. Some of the bands who will perform include Donn Bhat + Passenger Revelator, Fiddler’s Green and Bellatrix.

Understand smart cities
Jan 20, 2 PM: Attend a lecture by AG Krishna Menon, a renowned Architect and Urban Planner, who will talk about ‘Smart Cities — Organic Cities: Conceptual Conundrums Confronting Indian Urban Planners’. Besides undertaking several urban conservation projects he has drafted the INTACH Charter for the Conservation of Unprotected Architectural Heritage and Sites in India in 2004, Menon has also contributed to the profession by theorizing and critically writing about issues of the built environment.

Watch a contemporary art show

Meet Zhaverchand Meghani

Go catch Soulmate
