Catch a classical show
10 AM onwards: Celebrate Hindustani classical music of the Gwalior, Agra and Jaipur gharanas with Apoorva Gokhale, Pournima Dhumale, Pratima Tilak. The day-long concert will see the artistes bring their individual imprint with rare, traditional compositions and raagas favoured by each gharana. In addition, these raagas will span the melodies meant for the morning, afternoon and early evening in keeping with the time cycle of Hindustani classical music.

Attend a lecture on a legend
If you are a film history buff, then this session should be of interest. Columbia Global Centers , Mumbai and the US Consulate General Mumbai has organised a lecture on Ida Lupino. An Anglo-American actress-singer who later became a pioneering director and producer, the only women working in the Hollywood system of the 1950s. Lupino’s works tackle a number of women-oriented and bold subjects for her time, including unwanted pregnancy, rape and bigamy. This year marks her birth centenary. Delivered by Richard Peña, Professor of Professional Practice in Film at Columbia University School of the Arts, the lecture will focus on Lupino’s career as a director using clips from several of her films.
