Sindhu defeated USA’s Iris Wang 21-13, 21-14 while Srikanth notched up a 21-10, 14-21, 21-14 victory over Thomas Rouxel of France in their respective Round 1 matches. Jayaram eked out a hard-fought 21-18, 17-21 21-13 against Dane Rasmus Gemke. Praneeth saw off Spain’s Pablo Abian 21-12, 21-17 to join others in Last 8.
